Letters for Oct. 8: Federal money for Trump TV ads could be better spent

‘U.S. Proud’ ads President Donald Trump is a billionaire. If he wants to make a positive TV ad featuring himself about how great America is and our “golden age,” he should pay for it, not me. A 60-second commercial during the national news (6:30-7 p.m.) can’t be cheap. The disclaimer at the end says, “Paid for by the U.S. government.” These ads come at a time when many people are struggling to buy food, medicine, gas and healthcare. Our national debt is in the trillions and we are involved in a war that costs us at least a billion dollars…
