China has expanded its toolkit of anti-sanctions laws, increasing risks for foreign companies by passing new regulations since March. These regulations allow Beijing to retaliate against foreign entities threatening its supply chain security or enforcing sanctions with “improper extraterritorial jurisdiction”. A third law in draft form would empower Chinese prosecutors to bring cases against foreign organizations and individuals whose actions harm the country’s national interests or public interest.
