“If suppliers increase their prices, we don‘t have a choice but to pad the same margins. Our selling prices of these items will effectively increase, too,” Steven Cua, president of the Philippine Amalgamated Supermarkets Association, told The Manila Times in a text message. “We pad a regular margin on the different categories found inside a supermarket.
