European stock markets opened higher on Tuesday in early signs of a rebound from the punishing global sell-off triggered by US trade tariffs. Stock markets in the UK and across the EU were in positive territory in early trading on Tuesday, as some investor optimism returned after heavy falls as a result of Donald Trump's "liberation day'" tariff announcements last Wednesday.
