Earthquake of 7.1 magnitude jolted the Kyrgyzstan-Xinjiang border region on Tuesday, leaving several injured and collapsed houses. According to the China Earthquake Administration, the epicenter, with a depth of 22 km, jolted mountainous border area of Wushi county in Aksu Prefecture in Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region around 2 am Tuesday (11:30 pm Monday IST), causing injury of six people so far. The main quake was followed by a succession of at least 40 aftershocks as strong as 5.3 in magnitude, China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) said.
