GOP Presidential contender asks ‘What’s a Uyghur?’ on Hugh Hewitt show

Republican presidential candidate and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez (R) was apparently unaware of the oppressed Uyghur ethnic minority group in China during an interview on Tuesday. Radio host Hugh Hewitt asked Suarez in an interview if the Miami mayor would be talking about the Uyghurs during his campaign. “The what?” Suarez asked. “The Uyghurs,” Hewitt said. “What’s a Uyghur?” Suarez asked again, before Hewitt replied, “Okay, we’ll come back to that.
