PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said he will raise issues related to the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) with Chinese President Xi Jinping should there be an opportunity for them to meet while in Cambodia. Both leaders are in the capital of Phnom Penh for the 40th and 41st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summits and Related Summits. “I’m hoping to do that with the Chinese President… It’s impossible for me to talk to China without mentioning that,” Marcos said following his arrival last Wednesday evening.
