An Asian woman was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in Oakland’s Little Saigon neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, officials said. The Oakland Police Department confirmed the shooting happened just after 2 p.m. near Lake Merritt on the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue. Homicide investigators have begun looking into the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the 60-year-old victim’s identity is being withheld at this time, police said.
