HANOI, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam recorded 653 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, down by 87 from Thursday, according to its Ministry of Health. All the new infections were domestically transmitted in 38 provinces and cities. The Vietnamese capital Hanoi was the pandemic hotspot with 162 new cases recorded on Friday, followed by the central city of Da Nang with 47 and the northern Yen Bai province with 42.
