A Chinese student has appeared in court on charges of killing an activist lawyer after stabbing him to death to work with him. Xiaoning Zhang, 25, was stabbed to death by Jinjin Li, 66, in New York City on Monday, where he worked as an immigration lawyer. The Queens County Criminal Court heard that two knives were found at the scene and one was in Zhang’s pocket. He told police he was carrying a knife to protect himself.
