SHANGHAI (Reuters) – U.S. electric carmaker Tesla plans to locate its Chinese design center in Beijing, according to a government document released by the Chinese capital. Tesla said in 2020 it planned to open such a center in the country to manufacture “Chinese-style” vehicles, but did not say where it would be. Last year, Reuters reported that the studio could be in Shanghai, where its factory is located, or in Beijing.
