Spirits group Remy Cointreau has reported better-than-expected figures for its second quarter, helping boost its outlook. Continued strong demand for its premium cognac in the US, China and Europe drove underlying sales up by 23.7%, compared to analysts’ expectations for growth of 20.8%. For the first half as a whole, sales jumped 52.0% to €645.3m after the business bounced back from the tough trading conditions last year when most bars and restaurants were closed in key markets.
