Although India had requested early delivery of S-400s due to tensions with China in Eastern Ladakh, Russia was unable to do so because of multiple production and technology-related constraints. India is also in the process of establishing two squadrons of French-made Rafale fighters, which are being inducted under a deal worth €7.8 billion with Dassault.
