A Liberal National Party rift has emerged in Queensland over a pro-Beijing candidate who called on Chinese voters to elect ‘one of their own people’. Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday revealed Peter Zhuang, a 51-year-old property developer and company director, had placed controversial advertisements in Chinese newspapers asking for support ahead of this Saturday’s state election. Mr Zhuang will be representing the LNP in the southern Brisbane seat of Stretton, which has a high concentration of voters with a Chinese background.
