Zhang Lifa died in February after travelling to Wuhan for surgical procedure on a leg fracture. He displayed signs of the virus while in restoration, simply as town was put into lockdown. His son, Zhang Hai, spoke to the BBC’s former China editor Carrie Gracie and says they might not have made the journey in the event that they’d been conscious of the presence of coronavirus in Wuhan.
