While global neurotechnology races forward with groundbreaking clinical trials, China is taking aggressive steps to institutionalize and govern the industry. The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has approved China’s third brain-computer interface (BCI) medical device standard, marking the world’s first BCI standard to incorporate artificial intelligence for processing electroencephalogram (EEG) data.
