Anthropic’s Report Highlights AI Misuse from Biological Weapons to Espionage

Today, the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) presents a growing concern as it is now involved in a myriad of illicit activities, a recent report by AI company Anthropic reveals. The report uncovered attempts to utilize Anthropic’s Claude AI models for activities ranging from cyberattacks to espionage, surveillance, scams, and even potential support of biological weapons development between December 2025 and August 2026.
