In India’s coastal city Kochi, art, food and history collide

KOCHI, India – A queue for the toilet at cafe and art gallery Lila Curated Experiences sparks an unexpected encounter. In the courtyard, an artist is putting the final touches on a mural titled New World Order, where blindfolded world leaders are seated at a long table, a warped version of artist Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper. It is part of a group show on politics and dissent. Mr Sabaridas, who goes by only one name, is doing a master’s degree at the College of Fine Arts Kerala in Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala.
