Northeast’s First Emergency Landing Facility in Dibrugarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the region’s first Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) in Assam’s Dibrugarh district that will enhance the country’s defence preparedness and infrastructure capabilities in strategically sensitive areas. The newly commissioned Emergency Landing Facility is designed for defence aircraft operations as well as emergency civilian use,strengthening rapid response capacity in times of military need,natural disasters or humanitarian crises. Inauguration was marked by aerial display by the Indian Air Force,featuring manoeuvres of advanced fighter jets that emphasises operational readiness and air superiority capabilities.
