Via RFE/RL, NATO officially launched its Arctic Sentry mission on February 11 to improve its military posture in the Arctic region, following recent tensions between the United States and Denmark over Greenland. The mission is intended to bring all of NATO’s Arctic activities under one command to counter increasing Russian and Chinese activity in the strategically significant area.
