China threatens countermeasures if Japanese PM’s comments on Taiwan are not retracted

China on Wednesday asked Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to retract ”wrongful remarks” on Taiwan, warning that failing to do so would result in ”countermeasures”. The warning comes a day after officials from the two countries, who held talks in Beijing to tone down tensions, failed to resolve their differences.
