Donald Trump has announced he will impose a 30% tariff on imports from the European Union from 1 August. The tariffs could make everything from French cheese and Italian leather goods to German electronics and Spanish pharmaceuticals more expensive in the US. Mr Trump has also imposed a 30% tariff on goods from Mexico, according to a post from his Truth Social account.
