The BRICS Summit took place in Rio de Janeiro under the chairmanship of Brazil on July 6 and 7, the first after the commencement of US President Donald Trump’s second tenure. Also, this is effectively the first BRICS summit with its expanded membership, which includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
