7.30’s Political Editor Laura Tingle to become ABC’s new Global Affairs Editor

The ABC’s 7.30 Political Editor Laura Tingle is leaving the current affairs program after six years to take up a new position as Global Affairs Editor, the broadcaster has announced. Tingle, a Walkley-Award-winning journalist, will take up the post mid-year, joining a network of foreign correspondents, the Asia Pacific Newsroom and Foreign Correspondent staff. As one of Australia’s most highly respected journalists, Tingle takes over from John Lyons who was announced as the ABC’s new Americas Editor in February.
