Deputy Secretary Landau's Call with Australian Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Adams

Office of the Spokesperson The below is attributable to Spokesperson Tammy Bruce: Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau spoke today with Secretary of Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Jan Adams.  He thanked Australia for being a steadfast ally, friend, and partner in upholding a free and open Indo-Pacific and in promoting our shared interests globally.  The two agreed on the importance of strengthening defense and security cooperation to meet an increasingly challenging security environment, and work together to deepen relationships with the Pacific Island countries.
