During the 90-minute meeting with Mr Wang, Senator Wong reinforced objections to the severity of the treatment of Australian citizen and detained writer Dr Yang. "I made clear to him the Australian government will continue to advocate on Dr Yang's behalf," she said. "I told the foreign minister Australians were shocked at the sentence imposed."
