Taoiseach Leo Varadkar stepped into North Korea as he visited the demilitarised zone and border between North and South Korea as he arrived for the Government's Trade Mission. Following the historic visit, Mr Varadkar said that the "frozen conflict and the threat posed by a nuclearised North Korea continues to have serious consequences for millions of people" on the Korean peninsula. The demilitarised zone, known as the DMZ, is one of the most heavily militarised borders in the world.
