Daniel Ellsberg was responsible for setting off the string of notorious events in White House Plumbers. Although Ellsberg is not portrayed on-screen by an actor in HBO’s new limited series, his presence is known and felt by the characters. Ellsberg is most famously known as the person who leaked the Pentagon Papers in 1971.
