Hawaiian Airlines to fly Airbus A330 freighters for Amazon

Amazon will lease 10 Airbus A330-300 converted freighters and outsource flying and maintenance to Hawaiian Airlines in a major expansion of its private air cargo fleet that also gives the retailer a potential ownership stake in Hawaiian, the companies announced Friday. The aircraft will be operated in the U.S. domestic market to help increase delivery speeds for customers with online orders, Amazon spokesperson Olivia Connors said in a statement to FreightWaves.
