HANOI, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam recorded 960 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, up by 158 from Monday, according to its Ministry of Health. All the new infections were domestically transmitted in 41 provinces and cities. The Vietnamese capital Hanoi was the pandemic hotspot with 192 new cases recorded on Tuesday, followed by the northern Yen Bai province with 67 and the northern Phu Tho province with 55. The infections brought the total tally to 10,727,005 with 43,081 deaths. Nationwide, 9,523,290 COVID-19 patients, or nearly 89 percent of the infections, have so far recovered.
