HANOI, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam recorded 1,039 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, down by 49 from Thursday, according to its Ministry of Health. All the new infections were domestically transmitted in 46 provinces and cities. The Vietnamese capital Hanoi was the pandemic hotspot with 230 new cases recorded on Friday, followed by the northern Yen Bai with 80 cases and the northern Phu Tho province with 56 cases.
