HANOI, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam recorded 1,088 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, up by 41 from Wednesday, according to its ministry of health. All the new infections were domestically transmitted in 46 provinces and cities. The Vietnamese capital Hanoi was the pandemic hotspot with 238 new cases recorded on Thursday, followed by the northern Bac Ninh with 116 cases and the northern Yen Bai province with 58 cases.
