Taiwan's COVID-19 case numbers for May 20, 2022. Taiwan reported 85,720 new local cases of COVID-19 on Friday. Forty-nine more people have died from the disease. Almost a third of the people with new cases of COVID are from New Taipei, with 23,704 people there testing positive. Another 11,684 people in Taoyuan have the virus, along with 11,414 in Taipei.
