CORONAVIRUS/Taiwan reports 46,536 new COVID-19 cases, 11 deaths Taipei, May 7 (CNA) Taiwan's single-day COVID-19 case number exceeded 40,000 for the first time on Saturday, as it recorded 46,536 new cases and 11 deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC). The new cases comprised 46,377 domestically transmitted infections and 159 contracted abroad, the CECC said. The 11 people who died of COVID-19 complications were seven men and four women in their 40s to 90s.
