In the towns around Kyiv, the bodies of civilians were abandoned in the streets or given temporary burials. And according to Andriy Nebytov, who heads the region’s police force, police data indicated 95 per cent of them died from gunshot wounds. “Consequently, we understand that under the (Russian) occupation, people were simply executed in the streets,” Nebytov said.
