According to the National Health Commission (NHC), China reported 3,472 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday. According to Xinhua, China’s industrial hub Shanghai recorded 3,200 confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 19,872 local asymptomatic carriers among the new locally transmitted cases. Apart from Shanghai, new local COVID-19 cases were recorded in 20 additional provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland, including 174 in the northeastern province of Jilin and two in Beijing, according to the report.
