Shanghai expands Covid lock-in measures despite economic concerns

Shanghai will expand strict lock-in measures in many parts of the city that are expected to resume normal life on Friday, as the Chinese financial center sharpens efforts to contain an outbreak of largely asymptomatic cases of Covid-19. According to measures announced by city officials on Thursday for the eastern Pudong area, which includes Shanghai's financial district, all residents living in areas where positive cases were found will be restricted to their homes for an additional 14 days.
