Chinese Communist Party puts President Xi Jinping on par with Mao Zedong

It is only the third time in the 100th anniversary of the Party that the members of the Central Committee have passed such a resolution. The first time was to establish the status of Mao Zedong, the founder of the current People’s Republic. The other leader to receive that honor was Deng Xiaoping, whose reforms in the 1980s saw China’s economy boom.
