Xinjiang rights campaigner says Kazakhstan denied entry

Almaty, Kazakhstan: A prominent campaigner documenting the plight of Muslim minorities in China's Xinjiang region said on Monday that they have been barred from entering neighboring Kazakhstan. The United States says Beijing is carrying out genocide against Uighurs and other mostly Muslim Turks in Xinjiang, where experts estimate more than a million people are held in camps and prisons. Central Asian Kazakhstan is one of several former Soviet states that appeared to toe Beijing's line on Xinjiang.
