Japan’s factory activity grew at a slower pace in August and manufacturing sector in Southeast Asia contracted for the third straight month hurt by COVID-19 outbreaks and lockdown measures in the region, data showed on Wednesday. Headline au Jibun Bank Japan Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) stood at 52.7 in August, slightly lower than 53 in July.
