A customer service employee at a Hong Kong shopping centre where the city’s first patient infected with the Delta variant also works became the latest local Covid-19 infection, among six cases confirmed on Sunday. The 24-year-old woman had already been isolated in a quarantine centre, and health authorities were conducting genome sequencing to determine whether she also carried the more infectious variant, which was first detected in India. All five other confirmed cases were imported, and involved travellers from Britain, Indonesia, Bangladesh and the United States.
