Naver In Hong Kong, 47 democracy activists have been charged with subversive activities. The charges are based on a Chinese-enacted security law that seeks to suppress the democracy movement in the city-state. The law has not previously been applied to such a large group of defendants. In January, police arrested 55 prominent activists and confirmed on Sunday that 47 of them had been charged. The trial will begin on Monday.
