NORTHWEST China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region reported three new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 61 new asymptomatic cases Saturday, the regional health commission said yesterday. The confirmed cases were recategorized from previously reported asymptomatic cases. Among the asymptomatic cases, 46 were in Shufu County in south Xinjiang’s Kashgar Prefecture, while 15 were found in the neighboring Akto County of the Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture of Kizilsu. By Saturday, Xinjiang had a total of 54 confirmed cases including six in severe condition, as well as 219 asymptomatic cases.
