The first phase of the panda base expansion project at the Chengdu Panda International Tourism resort in the city of Chengdu, China, is expected to be completed in May 2021. The base is to be expanded in size and will accommodate 20 new animal habitats to house around 180 new pandas. Other animals will live at the base include red pandas and golden monkeys.
