Chinese Recipes: Lettuce In Oyster Sauce

 
Lettuce in Oyster Sauce -- serves 4
 
Ingredients:
  • (1)
    1-1/2 T. oyster sauce
    2 t. soy sauce
    1 t. cooking wine
    1/2 t. sugar
    1/2 t. sesame oil
    1-1/2 t. cornstarch
    5 T. water
  • (2) 1 lb. (400 g.) lettuce
  • (3) 1 t. garlic (minced)
  • (4) 2 T. vegetable oil
This is actually a dish that is easy to get wrong! Make sure that you begin with semi-crisp leaves of lettuce and serve it immediately after cooking so that the leaves don't get too soggy. Serve with fried rice and enjoy!

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cut pork ribs into 2'' long pieces. Marinate in (1) for about one hour.
  2. Preheat oven. Bake pork ribs in 450F degrees for 30 minutes. (turn and brush with marinate every 10 minutes.)Serve, lick your fingers, and enjoy!
